How it works

Three steps. No theory degree required.

/ 01

Find the chord

Type any chord or progression and chord shows you every place it lives on the fretboard.

/ 02

See the shape

A diagram, not a chart. Fret numbers, finger positions, and the notes you're actually playing.

/ 03

Hear it back

Play it, loop it, slow it down. Your ear learns the shape while your fingers learn the pattern.

02

Everything but the fumbling

Learn more, guess less.

Every chord, voiced

Majors, minors, 7ths, sus, diminished — each one mapped to real finger positions.

Scales over the neck

Major, minor, pentatonic, and modes, drawn across all six strings.

Progressions that pull

ii–V–I, the blues, borrowed chords — hear why they work, not just that they do.

Ear training drills

Intervals, chord quality, and rhythm, graded as you go.

Tempo & loop

Slow any shape down and loop it until your hands know it cold.

Progress journal

Track what you've drilled, and what's still wobbly.

04

See the chord

A chord is a shape. chord draws it for you.

Every chord is a pattern of dots on six strings. chord renders the shape, names the notes, and plays it back — so the neck stops being a mystery grid and starts being a map.

From the desk of Nico Álvarez

Most guitar apps hand you a chord chart. chord hands you the neck.

I taught myself guitar in a rented flat in Lisbon, on a borrowed acoustic with one string that wouldn't stay in tune. I learned chords from a printed chart I taped to the wall, and I learned them wrong — upside down, because I'd hung it backwards.

What I learned: a chord chart tells you where to put your fingers. It doesn't tell you why, or where else that chord lives, or what it sounds like next to the one you just learned. That gap is where every guitarist stalls.

So here's the invitation: pick a chord you already know. Find it five places up the neck. That's the whole product.

"The ii–V–I page changed everything. I could hear why the chords wanted to move, not just that they did."

"I set it to slow down the barre chords and loop them. Two weeks later my hands just knew it."

Questions, answered.

How does chord map a chord to the fretboard?+
Every chord is a set of notes. chord finds every fret position for each note, then groups them into playable shapes — open, barre, and spread voicings.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. The chord and scale library is stored locally, so saved shapes keep loading with no signal. Live sync and drills need a connection.
Is it only for guitar?+
Right now, yes — six strings, standard tuning. Bass and ukulele are on the roadmap.
Is it free?+
Yes — the core chord and scale library is free during beta and stays free after launch.
Do I need to read music?+
No. chord works from chord names and fret diagrams. Standard notation is optional, not required.
Can I track my progress?+
Yes — the journal logs every drill, so you can see what's solid and what's still wobbly.
